No, not if the electors vote in accordance with the voting results from their states. Then they are merely a tool, not an actor.

Voting in accordance with the voting results from their state is what, by definition, makes them "representative".

No, representative government has always worked such that elected representatives were sent to exercise their own judgment. Not so with the electoral college.

The electoral college would work the same if no electors were involved.
