Zounds!

DE is all the way on the other side of MD for me, and then some.

Even Harrisburg is a 2+ hour stretch and I reckon it will be filled up long before I could get there anywhere near “early”.

I suppose it’s a bit pointless to campaign in a place where you know you’ve got it sewn up.

Interestingly, Simon Cameron was one of the potential nominees for president at the Republican convention of 1860. Eventually Lincoln prevailed on the third ballot. Cameron withdrew his name from consideration in exchange for a cabinet position. Lincoln did not want to make that deal but eventually Cameron was make Secretary of War - which was short-lived as he was forced to resign on allegations of corruption.

Many today point to that convention as an example of how somebody can come out of nowhere to win the nomination but in those days, there were no primaries or caucuses as we know them today. Candidates simply lined up delegates and showed up at the convention. The public was not involved in the process at all. Ted Cruz would have loved that system.

I take it you live in western MD, which is a beautiful area.

Trump says he will return to MD, so there is still hope.

How about West Virginia—I am sure he will be traveling there soon—primary is May 10th—maybe that will be possible for you.

I will cheerfully go to WV, since it’s just a mile from me, across the river.

If he does go there, it’ll likely be someplace like Charleston, which is 5 hours away.

And yep, I’m here in The Wilderness.

[that and The Wastelands were what the early MD governors referred to us as...and we LIKE it]

;D

[mostly, I’m just chomping at the bit to be part of the Bikers For Trump brigade]

I remember when Nancy ran for Congress. Bud Shuster was my Congress Critter at the time. Never was unseated. When he finally decided to retire, the seat was won by his son, Bill Shuster.

5 hours to Charleston? Yikes—you are in the Wasteland.

But it is beautiful country out that way.

BTW—On NBC right now—Trump, Melania, Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric and Tiffany—all being interviewed outside.

Thanks for that info. It was great to see that even people not going to the rally were out in force in MD. I suspect Trump’s huge win in NY will carry him over the 50 percent mark in every one of the 5 states next week, and then it’s on to Indiana for another big win.

I think you are right.

Trump and his family are on NBC’s Today Show right now—after the commercial he will be taking questions from folks.

Melania was asked what habit would you like see Donald give up?

She said “Tweeting”. LOL!

Looks like you are lost—this is a Trump rally thread.

BTW, Trump did not ciriticze the Reagan tax cuts—he specifically criticized the Bradley Bill of 1986, which singlehandedly ruined real estate investment in America and directly caused the Savings and Loan fiasco of 1989-1991.

Good Morning!

I know this is the PA thread but for fun, here’s a link to Dan Scavino’s twitter post that shows Trump traveling thru Maryland where he was greeted on just about every corner for 15 miles!!!!!

https://twitter.com/DanScavino

I believe it’s his second or third post down.

Classy thing, Scavino is THANKING Maryland with that video. The Trump campaign says “We Saw You”

Amazing!
