Most people don’t like rich people who hide their money.
But understand this: there is no freedom without financial privacy. And in some countries, the ability to squirrel money away can be the difference between life and death. The more centralized and overbearing the government, the more your need for financial privacy.
Governments depend upon their ability to tax to fund their proper functions. So that means they need to devise a means of taxation that does not violate your privacy, and does not force you to reveal information that is nobody’s business.
I notice obama didn’t kill HIS right to privacy though.
