But I could swear I just heard Cruz tell Hannity that Trump just lost 5 elections in a row and couldn’t run a lemonade stand. But I have a question. Is it technically an election when all the delegates are all picked by party insiders at a “convention” and the people don’t get to vote for the nominee of their choice? Because that doesn’t feel much like an election to me.
Sure it's an election! Heck, that's the the Soviet Union ran their elections that way the whole time. It was in the "rules", dontcha know?
Am I exaggerating a bit comparing these GOP caucuses to the old Soviet method? Yes, but maybe not by much.
So Lincoln wasnt elected? The process is generally the same as it has been since Lincolns time. Wyoming had a caucus system not very different from that of Iowa except that in Iowa the people are personally much more involved because of all the national attention. If Iowa were not allowed to go first, participation in the caucus would go way down. In the primary states, such as Florida, relatively few people get personally involved until the season begins and they hear the hype on TV and now the social media.
Yeah, old Ted's playing pretty fast and loose with the definition of an election there. Playing fast and loose with the facts has been the biggest part of his campaign in recent weeks.
