“If both sides cant have a voice, why call it a forum?”
I agree, as long as the disagreement is truly respectful. The problem is that it is most often not. I know it happens on both sides, but as a Trump supporter, I am getting so tired of coming to FR, which is meant to be a safe haven, to be among friends, and be called a moron, or zombie or not conservative. I’m getting tired of hearing Trump be called a carnival barker, buffoon, clown, democrat, and much, much worse.
Disagreement is fine, but I’m not here for insults. For that, I could go to a democrat forum, I guess.
Trump is the front runner, and has been for a while. He has declared war on my sworn enemies, the Godless Marxists in both parties, and shows signs of being a fighter and a winner.
I have enjoyed debating on FR who would be the best nominee, but I also want to celebrate this grass roots uprising - it’s amazing that my union worker friends, lifelong Democrats, are all in for Trump! This is fun and exciting! Not everyone agrees, I understand that.
But if we can’t celebrate that at FR, where can we do it?
If a person can not handle disagreement without resorting to either insults or gratuitous gainsaying, it isn't a disagreement: it's a temper tantrum.
See post 898 where Trump is compared to Caligula.
But the disagreement is not respectful and I don’t think it will be this time round.
People are too bitter.
But it will be a dull forum with everyone agreeing and no one to berate.
I asked Jim if Cruz supporters would still be welcome but I haven’t heard from him.
