I absolutely understand your hesitation and your reluctance. That is entirely natural after a hard-fought campaign. However, the real question that you have to ask yourself is whether you would like Hillary Clinton to be your nation’s leader, or someone else. I, personally, side with someone else. While I support Trump, he is far from my ideal candidate. Frankly, there is no such animal as a perfect candidate, because everyone is human and makes mistakes of one kind or another. However, in this particular context, I believe in my bones that the absolute worst choice that anyone can make is to sit on their hands and allow Hillary Clinton to waltz into the White House.

What you choose to do is, of course, completely up to you. Just please understand that all of us here on Free Republic, despite our differences, have much much more in common with each other than with any Democrat. As Franklin said, we must all hang together, or we will all surely hang separately.

Thanks for your considerate reply. I’ll watch and wait and see how things play from here. I can’t shake the feeling that we’re being sold another bill of moderate-to-liberal goods and that we’re somehow supposed to be ok with that because ‘he’s not establishment!’

To be sure, Bernie or Hillary are a losing hand, but Trump is at best a spin on the roulette wheel... he might be a winner, or we might just lose everything. I’m just a little sad that we’ve gotten to the point where a random spin is the best we can hope for.
