Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz is mathematically eliminated from winning the GOP nomination on the first ballot, according to the Associated Press.
GOP front-runner Donald Trump is now the only Republican candidate who can clinch the nomination before the GOP convention in July, as there arent enough remaining delegates for either Cruz or John Kasich to reach the 1,237 threshold.

Cruz did just that. Told Kasich he should drop out. He even told the AIPAC he didn't want a contested convention, saying it would be highly damaging, and that he would win on the first ballot.
But Cruz is a pathological liar so he didn't believe what he was saying.
“...Many will simply reverse the steal...”
My conclusion also and exactly. We think alike! And we are right!!
Don't count out the Caps.
The most popular person in D.C. happens to be a Russian named Alexander.
heh.
Irony is so ironic.
Jedi.
So that Trump can put forth even less effort than he is already putting in? Does it not bother you that Trump is perfectly content to abstain from the delegate selection process, letting the GOPe seat his delegates for him? So when it comes time at the Convention to change the rules and bring down the GOPe, all of Trump's delegates will be voting to protect the status quo. And to hear Trump supporters exclaim how Trump will bring down the GOPe. They are totally clueless.
There is more at stake here than winning the GOP nomination. Ted Cruz recognizes this. Trump could care less.
Oh wow, Trump misspoke, something everyone does, every day.
Cruz’s only function now is as a spoiler...’Cruz, get out of the race and let the people’s choice take the prize’...
I know it’s funny, right. Geez can’t even laugh at your own guy. I laugh at most of the Cruz memes—especially the Dracula one and the booger one.
Basically what this means is that any time you see someone talking up or pushing some of kind of second ballot nonsense it’s either a Cruz supporting media outlet or just an outright Cruz supporter.
There’s always the chance it’s a Kasichite but let’s be serious. LMAO.
The people’s choice is apparently none of the above. Especially if you give out delegates proportional and remove the WTA rigged system to help the GOPe get their guy in.
<< There is no case to be made for Ted to be the nominee. None. No moral justification. He may think he is special but he is not. People more accomplished and qualified than he is already left the race..... Ted should get out now.He is raising money to attack and undermine the presumptive republican nominee. He is quickly becoming the enemy. >>
The only conceivable explanation for Cartel Cruz staying in, and shaming himself, on a campaign that is now built on nothing left but dismissing the will of the voters, thwarting a democratic election to stop the people’s choice, is M O N E Y.
So, the Cartel that Cruz represents must surely have offered a large reward to Cruz, for his willingness to mule for them, destroy his own reputation, wreck a convention and serve their desire to get a parachute candidate elected instead of the Frontrunner.
Wondering what the pay off is. Probably, whatever it is will not be seen for a few years.
Cruz is the GOPe favorite. He is supported by our entire mainstream GOP. He is a favorite of the same people who have sold out individual Americans at work, by selling out millions of American jobs, to China.
He is supported by Mitt Romney. He is supported by John McCain. He is supported by Bush. He is supported my the entire GOP establishment. All of them.
Trump is the one people want. Individual Americans. Millions of them fill stadium, after stadium, after stadium everywhere. They all support Trump strongly.
Cruz is now fighting Trump, on behalf of the entire GOP establishment.
He just is.
America needs Trump.
tumblindice, I love your analysis of the Monet thing! I’m an artist and love Monet...from a distance. Ha. But I can see right through Cruz. Trump is my guy.
He beat Reagan then Reagan hired him next Election.
No delegate wants to call themselves a patriot when they are seen balloting against the peoples choice...
I truly hope your interpretation comes true, but I honestly don’t believe delegates think that way. I’ve heard a number of delegates when they called into conservative radio shows, especially after the Colorado exposure. They all sound alike in their arrogant superiority, their “you don’t understand the process” condescension, their recitation of the history of delegates voting in lieu of the people, their willingness to vote “outside the party” for Hillary to preserve the status quo. They fully believe they are in the right and the complainers are just stupid folk. They have no intention of losing their fiefdom, which has taken them a lifetime of toe-kissing to attain, to hobbits. Party before people is their motto.
I don’t even think after this, Cruz will be re elected in Texas...he is nothing but lies, from top to bottom...
It’s not hard to see why his college mates hated him, the Senate doesn’t like him, so why would Texas like him?
GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
THAT was the plan. Exactly.
Cruz was the first to know he couldn’t be elected by the people. His only path was to get delegates. He threw in with the GoPE to stop TRUMP. What was the pay off to agree to be the mule for the Cartel?
Cruz surely knew, also, that if the he and the GOPE globalists could stop the obvious Frontrunner TRUMP, the GOPE would easily drop Cruz on his head too.
However, I think the Gope sounds like they are backing way down, at least while TRUMP sweeps up the Northeast. The globalists are in bad with the people. Cruz helping them stop TRUMP is enraging people in both parties.
You can’t make the rules unless you have the delegates on your side and the majority (not plurality) of the delegates.
But that’s similar to what I’ve said for a while. The only nominee will be Cruz or Trump *IF* they agree to write the rules that only include them. But if they can’t figure that out they will hand it to the GOPe.
He started the first hour off with the election is rigged because Trump only got 60% of the vote but 90% of the delegates. The ridicule of Trump supporters continues. Yesterday at the bottom of the Third hour he had a caller that shamed him all while he was making fun of her to the crew. The face palms and rolling eyes were plentiful and disdain was clearly on display all the while claiming she just didn't understand him.
She won't abandon Rush and neither will I, but he has made it very hard to watch him lately. He is no where near the cliff that Beck and Levin went over but someone needs to help him make the turn before he does.
GOPe can’t beat Cruz at the convention if Cruz and Trump write the rules with the majority of their delegates.
It ain't over...'til it's over.
