After the results from the New York Primary started piling in, it was soon realized that Kasich was holding on to a strong second place lead over Cruz. That along with Trump's landslide victory over both of the other candidates, led to some bad news for the Cruz team, coming via the Kasich campaign.
bloomberg.com reports: N.Y. primary cemented the fact that Ted Cruz cannot secure nomination outright before GOP convention in July, John Kasichs chief strategist John Weaver says in campaign memo.

You have consumed the cool aid once again when you believe all the crap the anti Cruz faction has given you.
Have you ever thought to do some research to see what the numbers are on the passage of those to see if the Cruz vote was the critical passage one? NO? Those bills all passed even it Cruz was not voting.
Grow up, get a clue and vote for the most immoral man we will ever have running for president and an absolute guaranteed loser against Hillary. Just get ready for her as president.
Within the first few hours after the general election; the loss of the Senate as well as the White House...this site like many others will begin the:
NEXT TIME WE’LL NEED A REAL CONSERVATIVE mantra all over again.
Jedi.
Agreed. Trump may well win the nomination, but we wont know until June 7.
Its looking like Cruz checks out if he loses at the convention. Maybe a ‘pathological’ Carson type endorsement.
Then he waits until 2020, because Cruz believes hillary wins this fall in his heart of hearts.
Maybe we can get rid of Ryan ( who I find much more likeable than cantor ever was) in this process.
There were 3 candidates in NY, 13 in Texas. Ted won all but six counties. Three of the counties won by Trump gave him less than 100 votes.
Your last sentence is absolutely nonsensical...do you ever bother to preview your posts?
Perhaps Ted will tell us there are 4 Donald Trumps’.
Then exit quietly and make millions in his law practice.
Sad really.
Stock up on toilet paper.... :-)
Just in case.
Jedi.
“The same could be said for Ted Cruz as well, because he certainly abandoned that commandment.”
This much of what you said I can agree with. The rest is mostly ad hominem. The point to be made about both Trump and Cruz is that leaders lead. Leaders look like leaders, sound like leaders, and talk like leaders. Neither has been impressive. Cruz has, perhaps, come along a presidential cycle too soon, and so doesn’t have the seasoning that he should have. Trump has never attempted anything like this, and it shows ... badly. I don’t think Trump fully understands that President of the United States is not an entry-level position. He is acting like - sorry Trumpsters - an apprentice wannabe.
You might grow up and be honest enough to admit whether Cruz vote was the deciding one or not he sold out on both issues. Like he sold out on accepting money “from anyone”. Cruz principles are whatever it takes to get what he wants.
One does not have to have “ final say” in an issue, if they support something that hurts America they are wrong. That others did it too is no excuse!
Thanks for the thoughtful reply. As far as Trump goes it’s obvious he isn’t a social conservative but I do believe he is a fiscal conservative. And understands the consequences of the debt we have accumulated. How that translates to the position that our country is in financially is I just don’t see any lawyer politicians getting us out of this mess. I think it will take somebody with an entirely different perspective. None of us know what’ll happen all we can do is vote our conscience and hope for the best.
What you are implying is Mitch is not a liar? Now we know whose political side you are on.
Mitch is a liar and you seem to be also. Cruz is supposed to be so intelligent that he does not know enough to know is is being lied to? What if others lie to him will he not make himself knowledgeable on matters he votes on. Maybe self responsibility would benefit Cruz.
************
You maybe correct in your assumption. But my question is what do you think Cruz will
do in the interim? Traditionally Cruz only hangs with one job/position about five
years max and then he's on to something else. He's in the last half of his six year
senate term. I don't see him running again but rather moving on. I just don't have
a clue as to what may be his next interest.
Cruz could be AG of Texas.
he could stay in the senate and be judiciary chair or eventually majority leader. That would be the best for us, otherwise Hillary will just railroad everything through.
He has stated that he does not want to be on the supreme court , but that could change.
Or he could just make zillions of dollars in private practice.
Will be a big loss if we lose Cruz, Carly, walker or carson.
The only thing Mitch has done so far is hold Scalia’s replacement.
Trump won counties along the border.
You can justify all you want Cruz has said Kasich should get out since he can’t reach 1237. I suggest Ted follow his own advice
Ted the career government employee is acting like a petulant child
Watch the personal attacks.
Cruz is mathematically eliminated from the race as of today.
People need to rally around Trump.
People who are for the GOPe Bush family are for GOPe insider Cruz.
No, no he doesn’t. Donnie has gotta win this thing on his own and that means 1237 or else. Just like anybody else has to. I personally want to see the party shaken up at the convention. We have all come together, compromised, gone along for years and years for this bunch and if it means the destruction of the republican party a new one will be built from the ruins. A better one.
A marathon runner that is a mile ahead at the 23 mile mark cannot call the win unless he crosses the finish line first, the whole distance.
And don’t tell me Cruz needs to do the honorable thing and drop out. How many times has the Washington cabal called the republican party done the honorable thing?
Are you in 5th or 6th grade?
Cruz is GOPe.
Cruz can’t win 1237 delegates.
Trump is our presumptive nominee now.
