It takes very little effort to register when one is supposed to register.
Why make it easier for people who obviously don’t care enough to do that simple thing?
I agree, and I cast many votes in NYS before I found a way out of there.
I know one of his top lawyers is a registered dem and did not change in time to vote for Trump .. not sure about the kids.
Ohio is very reasonable regarding party declaration...it is done at the time of voting. Voter declares Dem or Rep, gets the ballot for that declared party. A non-partisan voter gets an issues only ballot.
All voters must show a gov't issued ID (such as DL). This is much more important, in my opinion, than having to change registration weeks or months before the primary.
I am a poll worker here in Ohio, and I had to ask each voter which ballot they wanted. One voter said, 'I want a Trump ballot'. Guess we know which slate of electors he voted for! Through the course of the day, that happened twice, the second person said 'I want a Kasich ballot'.
Trump carried this particular precinct, though Kasich carried the state.
