I watched last year’s super bowl and that is the first NFL game I have watched in maybe 30 years.

I used to love it but in those days we had a different kind of player.

The thing that should alarm the NFL is that we’re seeing a lot of players walk away from the game in their 20s when they still have a lot of years left in them.

Heck if I were an NFL player, I’d play for one big contract, save the money, and get out.

A billion dollars to the NFL is like a thousand to most folks.

This is the death knell of the NFL.

In ten years there will be no football, American style.

It will have been bankrupted, by design, as the last vestige of a unique America culture.

It will be replaced by European style soccer teams, which is also known as “football”.

After all, someone has to pay for all those stadiums.

I love watching football, but I cannot imagine wanting to have my son play it. The injuries, drug abuse, cultural corruption, long term health risks make it a terrible gamble for the participants. And of course all of those risks apply to the college athletes as well, who are not compensated - while their coaches and associates make millions of dollars.

Take a look at the sport of boxing. Boxing was widely popular about 60 years ago. Now hardly anybody follows that sport. Horse racing is the same story. NFL football could go the same way. That is why cities like San Diego should think long and hard about spending a billion dollars for a football stadium.

$1 billion concussion lawsuit against NFL upheld

I see the refs calling a lot more personal fouls and targeting in an effort to cut liability, and don't even think about hitting the quarterback. Might as well put a dress on him and be done.

A lot of the new laws we see now, battling newly discovered forms of discrimination, are nothing more than make-work programs for lawyers...

I have been a Panthers fan on and off since their inaugural season. Last year I was more in to the game than ever before, for obvious reasons if you follow football.

That superb owl was as fixed as any match I have ever witnessed. Besides our QB running away from the football and then rolling around like an insincere clown on the sideline when the game was lost, then dressing like travon of the skittles post-game, one of our DBS pulled Luke Kuechly, perhaps the finest all-round lb in the game right now, away from the play, to allow a denver TD.

The whole thing was scripted to push the prospects of a race war forward,as well as make the sharps in vegas, betting on the dogs, more rich, with Beyoncé representing black panthers at half, whilst carolina panthers QB shares his name with Huey newton, founder of the black panthers, that terrorist org formed only a few miles from where the game took place, it happening to be the 50th anniversary of the black panthers founding. Then whitey mcwhitestuff Peyton manning peddling crap pizza and lousy beer before riding off on his pale horse.

I wonder if Riddell and Schutt were involved in the deal.

simple question is why no organized attacked on other sports for same thing?...

boxing, rugby, Australian Rules Football, hockey ...even soccer... all have risks of head impact

it’s an attack on American football because the left doesn’t like American football

It needs to be changed to FLAG FOOTBALL

But seriously- bring back rules to encourage good sportsmanship- a dirty hit is where you know you are about to blindside someone and you set out to lay him out flat- that should be a game ejection

And taunting- 10 yard penalty at minimum- cumulative penalties ACROSS GAMES - 3 times and you’re suspended for a game, 3 more the rest of the season

They are not teaching good sportsmanship any place any more, it seems. You help a player up after you’ve knocked him down. You don’t go charging at a ref, no showboating in the end zone...

It would go a long way to improving the game
