Thanks for that post of the small VFW hall. We had our neighborhood caucus meeting in a much smaller VFW hall near our house. It really is a symbol both of the commitment and sacrifice of our fighting men and women, and also of small-town America. I love it!

I was also pinged today regarding the anniversary of Paul Revere's Midnight ride. Perhaps the similarity can be stretched. Three people almost 250 years ago rode out to warn their fellow citizens that the battle for freedom was on. As one person told the next, soon a militia was aroused that drove back the enemy.

Perhaps not quite as dramatic, but these neighborhood, then county, then state caucuses are getting the word out - and we will drive back the enemy that is obamacare and illegal immigrants and economic stagnation.

Whoa, it’s an American Legion hall, not VFW. When I was a kid our junior football league was sponsored by the local VFW and if you ever confused our sponsor with American Legion our coach’d make you do double laps! :-)
