Everything you're saying is correct. It's really odd how so many Trump supporters think they and he can so viciously attack the GOP, and then assume they'll just hand over the keys. Unless all those Trump supporters start getting active in the party they hate, electing new committeement, etc., they and he will have no power.

But some of them have this fanciful narrative in their heads that Trump can - somehow - get everyone to submit to him. The truth is that he has very little leverage, and the more he attacks the party itself, the less leverage he has.

It’s very telling that Trump’s first inclination should he win the presidency is to take revenge on those who opposed him. That doesn’t bode well for a Trump West Wing filled with people who are afraid to tell him anything that he might disagree with.
