“Where in the Constitution does it say that Presidential candidates should be selected by a small group of oligarchs?”

The Constitution doesn’t tell us how to select our Presidential candidates, therefore, we are free to choose any method we like.

Actually it does and that does not include citizen voters, but state legislatures who may or may not allow citizens to have any say.
