Yes, there were. And they voted for delegates to represent them.
Those delegates voted for the nominee.
If trump had 51% of all votes in all states we wouldn’t be having these discussions.
So far he hasn’t done that anywhere.
You are a President Gore fan I see...
Recite the Pledge of Allegiance - our type of government is clear.
Maybe his good friend “Speaker of the Senate” Mitch McConnell will coach him on this as a thank you for his support in the primary.
“If trump had 51% of all votes in all states we wouldnt be having these discussions.”
I don’t believe that for a minute. If a state’s rules permit an also-ran to steal/buy delegates’ votes, it could occur even if the front runner had 75$ of the votes.
Besides, in states like Colorado, there were NO VOTES cast. The People were disenfranchised, so no candidate could’ve achieved 50%, 75%, or even 100%.
[How many times does Trump get to falsely claim were a democracy...]
Trump KNOWS we live in a Republic but he also knows, if asked, most people would agree we live in a democracy.
Here’s something to consider: The nominee for president has absolutely no authority to do anything other than run for office.
The stuff you are upset about - it grants no power.
Imagine that.
Trump has 45% of the delegates thus far with only 37% of the GOP vote.
And he is complaining about the “rules”
LOL!
People is Colorado did cast votes. They elected delegates.
They elected people to represent them at the conventions. This is a republic. Representatives chosen by the people.
Do you or do you not support state’s rights?
How then does Cruz steal delegates from Trump? Can anyone explain that breach of rules?
State Primaries have nothing to do the election of the POTUS? The Electoral College pertains to electing the POTUS not the candidate to run for POTUS. Who the hell does the GOPe think it is, that they deem themselves qualified to shoving candidates down our throats?
The only way to get a fair sense of whom the voters prefer is voting in secret. You’re not afraid of that, are you?
You nailed it! And that is why the establishment is sooooo afraid of Trump.
If I was a Trump supporter I would ask myself every day if he was just telling me what I wanted to hear, like Obama did his supporters.
It is a democracy-a representative democracy, but a democracy nevertheless.
so, unless it’s a pure democracy, it isn’t a democracy at all IOW? Give me a break. We’re a representative democracy. It’s still a democracy. and yes, we’re also a constitutional republic.
What kind of logical gymnastics brought you to that ridiculous conclusion?
No, I’m not afraid. In Pennsylvania we elect delegates on a secret ballot. The way Wyoming of Colorado or Iowa decide to caucus is up to them to decide.
