I am a building contractor in California. I am the EXACT person you describe.
Yet I still feel retirees are working class people that should have some representation. And the few older contractors that I know that could actually retire , are living on social security and doing small jobs to survive .

Sure they should, they should have it as well as everyone else. A bunch of retirees still sending their money off for miracle cures sold to them from NewsMax shouldn't represent everyone though, or banksters with time on their hands, or party officials, shouldn't be representing anyone other than themselves though.
