It was a night to celebrate strong women. Amy Schumer was the host, Caitlyn Jenner was honored and the guests included Arianna Huffington, Madeleine Albright and the actress Reese Witherspoon.
They also included Ivanka Trump.
When the crowd at Glamours Women of the Year event on Nov. 9 sat down for dinner at the Rainbow Room, a person at Ms. Trumps table asked the question that others were no doubt thinking: What would her father, who was being pilloried for remarks that struck many as misogynistic, make of her attending an event like this?
Ms. Trump quickly broke the strained silence by saying that she was her own person. Soon after, she and her friend Wendi Deng Rupert Murdochs ex-wife left.
A spokesman for Ms. Trump said she went home not because she was uncomfortable, but because it was late and she had two small children. But it was an awkward collision of the two worlds she inhabits: One as a 30-something Manhattan socialite and role model to young professional women, the other as Donald J. Trumps oldest daughter, biggest champion and perhaps most valuable asset.
A lot of women have come and gone over the course of Mr. Trumps life. But through his two high-profile divorces, numerous public romances and three marriages, Ivanka Trump has remained a constant.
In interviews, the Trumps, their friends and people who have done business with them described Donalds and Ivankas relationship as especially close, with Ms. Trump holding an exalted position in the family, in their company, and even in the campaign.

Would the Bush’s and the Clinton’s mind if she was nominated for Vice President?
“Amy Schumer was the host, Caitlyn Jenner was honored ...”
Pretty much speaks for itself, doesn’t it?
Or maybe SENATOR for New York State???
Am I the only one that found something a little disturbing about the first two sentences?

Thanks to the Lone Ranger, I was a Cheerios kid.
Interesting article, thanks. I am a “yuge” Trump fan but I had never watched his reality TV show and only knew of his daughter by having heard her name, just like the “you’re fired” meme. Didn’t really know he had other children or was married to Melania as I don’t pay attention to pop culture.
So as one who really had no prior knowledge or opinion of Trump other than as a rich NYC builder, my opinions of him him have been formed almost entirely since June 16th. The first I’d seen or heard from Ivanka was when she made a video about how to caucus in Iowa and she blew me away. If anything can convinced the naysayers that Trump is not waging any war on women, his wife and his daughter will be in the general’s rank. The more I hear from Ivanka, the more impressed I am.
Ivanka and baby Joseph---her second of three.
“Strong women” includes a male evidently. Notice I did not use the word “man.”
On a related note (Leftist identity politics), on the spurious charge that Trump is a RACIST!, see this article, and my comments in post 9:
African American businessman: Donald Trump is not a racist, guys

I can hear Bruce saying it.
Kardashian’s of politics.
Very impressive young lady. Too bad (based on Trump’s prior opinion) she might not be eligible for POTUS since her mother wasn’t a US citizen when she was born.
Glamours Women of the Year might want to do a “skivey inspection”.
Then again what isn’t fake with that bunch?
Doesn’t smoke drink or do drugs Does do other people’s wives and brags about it Great family values there....
Bigbob - if you missed it, I included the link below of the Anderson Cooper Town Hall with Trump, Melania, Ivanka, Tiffany, Don Jr. and Eric from last week. I thought it was quite good. The kids are all well-spoken and smart and I’ve always thought that Ivanka was.

There is the Trump family and then there is Donald.
Without Donald Trump the whole Trump empire will fall apart as is the case with any empire.
20 years after Trump is gone, whatever he lives behind will lose the entrepreneurial genius that once was. Ivanka Trump ain’t no Donald and most likely will be swept away in a wave of elitism.
Caitlyn is a big Cruz supporter
Isn’t chelsea Clinton ivankas best friend?....She is better looking than chealsea
As such she has the integrity to not run for an office for which she is not eligible.
