I have pulled that R Lever, full ticket with one exception, for 35 years. I'm not a spring chicken. The exception was 2012, top of the ballot. I left it blank. Still, that's a fairly good record of party loyalty at the ballot box.
I cannot count the number of times people have bitched about career politicians. Talked about how the government should be run more like a business. How candidates are nothing more than walking-talking robots for the donors who fund them.
I for one, do not think that Mr. Trump is the perfect candidate. I doubt that he will be able to convince Congress and the Courts to go along with all his initiatives. I frankly think that some will be traded away in deal-making. Still, if only 5 things from your list are actually accomplished, it will do more for the country than any Republican since Reagan ended the Cold War. Yeah, even if it happened under Bush, Reagan still gets the credit for that.
Anyway, after 35 years, I feel like black people must feel in the Democratic Party. My vote is taken for granted. My support is assumed, so there's no reason to actually address the problems that I see.
That ends this year. I'm voting Trump, even if I have to write him in. End of story.
I know your prior stance on support of the candidate once the primary is over. And I won't disrespect that. If Trump is not the man, I'll disappear until after the election.
God Bless.
Very well stated.
