Trump should just run as an independent. Is it any wonder that the republican party does not want to give the nomination to a person who isn’t one of them???? Seriously???

I wish that were true, but can he? Someone posted yesterday that many states have a law that prohibits a candidate from a party to move to run as an independent. Sore Loser Law, IIRC. If true, then his name wouldn’t be on ballots. (And write-ins usually are ignored.)
