FOX Business Network reported:
On Thursday, Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager for Donald Trump, was cleared of simple battery charges by Florida prosecutors. Police charged Lewandowski after reporter Michelle Fields, who at the time was with Breitbart News, accused him of grabbing her while she asked Donald Trump a question during an event in early March. Fields resigned her position following the incident.
Lewandowski, speaking to Blake Burman of the FOX Business Network, explained what happened that night in Florida and said he tried to get in touch with Fields.
I picked up the phone and I called Michelle, Lewandowski said. I wanted to find out what happened because I didnt know what happened because I never heard from her. To this day the campaigns never heard from her. She never once called and said hey, this took place. Id like to go and resolve this issue. I dont want to make this a story. None of that ever took place. But because I saw what the Twitter feed was saying, I said jeez, lets find out whats going on.
The campaign manager said he turned over his phone records to the district attorneys office in Florida in order to prove he made the calls that evening.
I never heard back [from Fields], Lewandowski said. The [Trump] campaign never heard back. And I think what we could have done, if she didnt want to become the story here, is have a private conversation saying this is what I think occurred.

He said he didn’t recall the event.
Have you ever forgotten something you may have done that others remembered? Goodness, this is ridiculous.
Look at the Videos. It was a nothing sandwich. He didn’t even look at her, he just brushed away someone grabbing Trump’s arm.
I didn’t realize TDS caused Blindness and loss of common sense.
Disclaimer: Former Cruzer now leaning Trump.
Isn’t this the False Allegation that was pushed by Megyn Kardashian on Fox??
But nothing like absolute proof she is stupid little bitch.
Yea Right!
I have. I see a frame rate of two to three frames per second. Fields is keeping pace with Trump. In one frame, Lewandowski reaches out toward her. In the next frame she's a full pace behind Trump. I don't call that "brushed away". It's completely consistent with her story. If someone jerks you a full pace back in a fraction of a second, you might just get a bruised arm, and come close to falling.
Exactly. Which is why I want a reporter to ask them if they still stand by the earlier statements.
They deserve a chance to back off those statements. Or to double down on them.
There's going to be a lot more of those as time goes on.
Look, Donald Trump is far from perfect, but the character assassination and demonization he's been subjected to, by an unholy alliance of the Left/Media/GOPe/Establishment, and the "me too" piling on campaign of Ted Cruz, is just unprecedented and unconscionable.
If the GOPe is able to thwart the Trump nomination, there will be nothing that they can't do, in their own minds.
The GOPe really is on the verge of destroying the Republican party by attempting to sabotage the frontrunner which the voters have chosen.
Nothing could be more important for the American People than stopping the elites and blowing apart the corrupt DC status quo of both parties.
And nothing will change for the better in Washington DC until that happens...
Simple assault is what was reported.
Pretty rare for a campaign manager to have charges filed against them in the middle of a campaign.
Nothing Sandwich with a touch of Mayo to keep it interesting.
People shouldn’t forget that Trump stood with Cruz when the press called his daughters trained monkeys.
It underscores the need for Ted Cruz and John Kasich to either stand by their earlier statements or to back off them.
They've seen the video. Same as you. Same as me. Do they still say that they would have fired Lewandowski immediately?
Our of curiosity, what would you have said (1) in response to her allegations and (2) would you stand by that statement having seen the video?
He publicly stated he never met her. He lied.
And Michelle lied about almost being pulled to the ground. That clearly never happened, and that’s possibly what Corey was referring to when he said she was delusional. Of course, the “victim” changed her story when she learned there was video of the incident.
Having seen the video, do you believe he should have been fired... or should still be fired?
I’ll never forget that. She spent 15 minutes per show discussing the lies from MF, happy to portray Corey as a bully in order to derail the Trump campaign. Now she’s back to her chirpy self, pretending this whole story was just a big misunderstanding. She’s certainly shown her true colors.
It was, and it remains, MSM slime at its very worst.
And Michelle Fields initially claimed, seconds after the fact, that she was nearly thrown to the ground by CL, which the video showed never happened. Michelle lied...which makes her a LIAR!
>>>Pretty rare for a campaign manager to have charges filed against them in the middle of a campaign<<<
Except for the FACT that he DID NOT have Charges filed against him that is.
Keep digging. You might make it to China yet.
I have to let you in on something. I don’t really care.
I just find it amusing that people go on and on about something that is over and done with like they will be able to change the outcome.
This whole Primary Election is an example. No matter what is said here, no matter how many insults are hurled back and forth between the Cruz and Trump Camps, nothing will be any different than if we weren’t here because of it.
Somebody will be the Republican Nominee, and they won’t be thanking all the FR posters that made it happen in their Acceptance Speech at the Convention.
Now, promise me you won’t let the secret out, OK? LOL
