Report: Saudis vow to sell US assets if Congress decides gov was involved in 9/11
Fox News ^ | 16 Apr 2016

Saudi Arabia has reportedly told the Obama administration and congressional leaders that it will sell billions of dollars in U.S. financial assets if Congress passes a bill to make the Saudi government legally responsible for any role in the 9/11 attacks.

The administration has tried to stop Congress from passing the legislation, a bipartisan Senate bill, since Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir last month told Washington lawmakers his country’s position, according to The New York Times.

Al-Juberi purportedly informed the lawmakers during a trip to Washington that Saudi Arabia would be forced to sell as much as $750 billion in Treasury securities and other American financial assets on the world market, fearing the legislation could become law and U.S. courts would then freeze the assets.

The revelations about the Saudis’ ultimatum come several days after reports that President Obama will soon decide whether to declassify 28 pages of sealed documents suspected of showing a Saudi connection to the deadly 9/11 terror attacks.

Former Florida Democratic Sen. Bob Graham told Fox News on Tuesday that the White House told him a decision on whether to declassify the documents would be made within 60 days.

Graham helped lead a 2002 congressional inquiry into the attacks.

The Bush and Obama administrations have refused to unseal the documents, arguing their release would jeopardize national security. Critics claim the reluctance is a calculated move to hide Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the al Qaeda terror attack that killed almost 3,000 people on U.S. soil on Sept. 11, 2001.

Obama had come under renewed pressure to release the documents ahead of a scheduled trip next week to Saudi Arabia for a summit of Persian Gulf leaders.

George W is just another Collectivist tool. A part of the political elite that rule over us all from both demonrat and pubican positions.

Why do you think W gave his “religion of peace” speech? About the only times during his Presidency when W. seemed articulate and impassioned were when he was either A. advocating amnesty for illegal immigrants or B. carrying water for the Saudis.

Absolutely! American popular culture is totally devoted to a bestial life of eating, drinking, drugging, copulating, evacuating the bowels and snoring. A people devoted to a philosophy like that will not long remain free. The only thing saving us has been our oceans and the Mexican conqueror is not bothered by that problem.

You read my mind. It does not seem to take much to be satisfied these days. The bar of “new normal” is really very low.

No street riots
Gasoline in stations

This is freedom? This is prosperity.

We don’t have a barter economy? Maybe not fully but a lot of it is already going on just to survive the high taxes.

The Soviets eventually did not have street riots and had gasoline in the stations. They were not in ruin?

OK, believe what you want. As for me, I’ve lived the last 60 years and by comparison to about half of that time we look like ruin is inevitable to me even by your definition.

The ONLY politician who has even come CLOSE to telling the truth about the Saudis and 9/11 + Islamofascism is one Donald Trump.

Which is why he has faced such intense opposition from all sectors of the Ruling Class/Bureaucracy/Media/Academia and why I fear for his life if he wins the nomination.

On a final note. If the Saudis make good on their threat there should be some good buys available.

So, Bye.

I doubt they have 3/4 of a trillion in assets right now anyway. Their piggy bank is emptying pretty fast right now.

I’m aware bartering is ongoing. However, it is not like Germany in the early 1920’s.

Worth repeating:

That’s a very loud and public GUILTY PLEA!!!!!

Make it so, we'll buy back our assets (and control!) for pennies on the dollar.

Not seeing the downside here...

With oil at $40 a barrel, this is an empty bluff from the Saudis.

Maybe we can even buy back our politicians?

How about we freeze and seize their US assets. That would be better than an Obozo curtsy.

This is what being programmed to accept third-world living standards is like.

People aren’t starving and dying in the streets... yet.

So what happens when the currency debasement/debt accumulation jig is up?

The point is, with oil at $40 a barrel, they can’t afford to alienate their biggest benefactor in defense and other aid by attempting to tank the dollar.

Spengler said it best: “Three weeks of press treatment and the truth is recognized by all.” People could be dying in the streets and the press could convince us that it is for the best.

If a sports Stadium in Florida was destoyed...

... and 19 members of the University of Florida football team were caught red handed...

OUR CIA would bomb Florida State in Tallahassee and take out the President of Georgia Tech...

The CIA can thank their lucky stars their eff-ups can be covered by ‘classifying’ them top secret, but it's time... time for the truth to come out.

Saudi prince in charge of their economy has stated that they will diversify away from dependence on oil

First prerequisite for that is a population that has the intelligence and drive to compete in world markets. That's not going to happen any time soon with that society.
