Watched this program last night, I used tunnelbear as my VPN. Very well done, the survey type used individual interviews, without preset answers to choose from. Sensitive questions and answers were done in writing, and placed in envelopes to avoid interviewer bias.

It’s basically covers the results of this 1000 person indepth survey, it’s been widely criticized in the press because they surveyed Muslim communities specifically instead of Muslims across the UK who might also be living well integrated in the general population. It was a mixed bag in terms of the results... 50% thought homosexuality should be illegal... something like 30% had sympathetic views towards extremist violence. The positives, were that most liked living in a free country, though many also thought they should be able to live in a parallel society with it’s own rules. Worth watching... someone posted the youtube link... or google the title of film, many reviews have been written.

Interesting program but researchers coming across as very naive and many important questions not asked. Lot’s of problems, no solutions. One important dimension missed was how a Muslim’s ideas correlate to being either Sunni or the minority Shiite in UK. It is my understanding that Sunni’s hate the Shiite Muslim “rejectors” even more than they hate the Americans, which by the way was not a question asked by the interviewers.

I’d love to see the paper version of the results, many of the questions they asked weren’t covered in the docufilm. Britain has always had a majority of Pakistani Muslims, which are usually sunni. The majority of African muslims are sunni...as are muslims from India, though shia muslims are a large minority in India. I imagine most of the Brit muslims are probably sunni. Of course Britain has had more recent immigrants from Iran and Iraq, which would be shia. But I imagine they form a small minority group.
