That is a funny photo. I laughed outloud when I first saw it...then I got creeped out by it.
But on a serious note, I actually like the way Nebraska and Colorado do their elections. It allows the Republicans to actually nominate someone with the organization to win an election. And it’s fair since we don’t have direct elections anyway there isn’t anything wrong with directly electing the delegates. This way you don’t have to worry about them changing their minds in later rounds like you do when the state demands that they vote for their % share of the vote.
In florida where Trump gets less than 50% of the vote but 100% of the delegates. Now that is unfair. But those delegates after round 1 will change their vote—so who knows what we’ll get. But if they directly voted for the delegates they know who will represent them at the convention—that’s a great thing.
However, there's the "small problem" that Trump & Sanders have exposed:
The party organizations are flipping off the ACTUAL voters.
It's been a one-way street up until 2016.
The Trump/Sanders bulldozers have opened up the other side of the street...
>> In florida . . . those delegates after round 1 will change their vote <<
Don’t think so. I understand that Florida law binds the delegates for at least three or four rounds. But eventually, if the conventions keeps voting round after round, the Florida delegates would at some point be “free to choose.”
(Florida may be the only state with rules that are so restrictive. Obviously unfair to everybody except Mr. Trump, no?)
