Maybe that’s why Obama sent those B-52s over to Iraq.

Re using B-52s in Iraq and Syria. A couple observations:

If you are Bono of U2 (not the plane), he wants to use comedy/comedians to ridicule ISIS. He said so this week.

Well, since Bono is a singer, why not send the group B-52s over to Iraq and Syria to lull the ISIS fighters into a rock and roll stooper. Hell, after dancing and singing to “Roam” and “Love Shack”, they’d be too tired to fight.

If they like red heads and blonds, then they will surrender to the female singers.

Now, B-52’s can do both a concentrated and “drag/carpet” bombing run, depending on the target. If the target is a good sized terrorist camp or even stronghold, a “concentrated” simultaneous bomb drop will wipe it out (if it hits the target).

A “carpet” bombing run will use the timed-bomb drop technique to “carpet/cover” a long area target. Depending on how many planes are used, they can cover many square miles in one mission.

A B-52 (Bernard Fall’s 1965 New Republic article), can cover an area approximately 1-1/2 miles long (start to finishing point of bombs drop) by about 1/2 - 1 mile wide (Right to Left).

I had a friend from the 1st Marines in VN go through a B-52 carpet bombing zone that hit a No. Vietnamese large unit. He said there was nothing left of them except ground beef.

If you want to see B-52s in action re carpet bombing, see the film on the Battle of Khe Sanh where you saw a sheet rain-wall of bombs hitting NVA trenches just outside the camp’s defense perimeters.

After action surveys estimated that the NVA lost anywhere from 1,500 to 3 or 5,000 men in these bombing raids, possibly more.

There was another “killing box” west of Khe Sanh where US artillery and bombers wiped out another NVA regiment or more in the “box area”.

In Iraq and Syria, there are few major ISIS camps left to hit. They have moved to smaller camps and put some inside of the cities they control(led). - Ramadi, Irbil, Fallujah, and Mosul (est. peacetime population 500,000).

If we use B-52s in Iraq/Syria, they should be used to clear roads of IEDs, destroy outer defense perimeter bunkers, minefields, and weapon positions.

Otherwise, if they are used on the city itself, they will kill many innocent civilians and not many ISIS men who are scattered all around.

That is why God and the US military developed DRONES and A-10’s. More precise and with the A-10, Hell with wings.

There are also a couple of enemy targets in the DC area - CAIR headquarters, the Red House, the Democrat side of Congress, the DNC, and the terrorist mosque in Fairfax County.

Ah, one can dream, can’t one?

Oh well, back to reality. Bomb, Baby, Bomb!
