can I ask some stupid questions??
We keep hearing liberals say that women make 79 cents on the dollar, or some lesser amount than men.
Are these comparisons for men and women who are doing the same job??
Are these comparisons taking into account issues such as years of experience, seniority with a company??
Are these comparisons taking into account full time vs. part time work, comparing hours worked to hourly wages?
Are these comparisons controlling for the fact that women more than men tend to take time off from job or career to care for their small children?
Are these comparisons considering that some women actually prefer to not climb the career ladder as high as they could, so that they have more time for their families?? Some women actually turn down promotional opportunities, relocating to other cities, etc. in order to better balance work and family life.
Just a few thoughts. To state a gross overall figure, state that women make less than men, and just leave the impression that such disparity MUST BE due to some illegal discrimination or micro aggression against females, is absurd.
Whenever my wife starts grousing about women being paid 30% less than a man, I always ask her if this were true, why is there any unemployment amongst women at all. After all, if a company can reduce its payroll by 30%...
