it was a Nissan Sentra doing 137 mph

Sorry I do not believe that.

Back in the day, the wife's 1984 Nissan 200SX Turbo could do 137 easy and still have gas pedal left ......

I pegged the speedometer (140) in a fairly new 89 Maxima with a 5-speed manual once New stretch of interstate, just opened, zero traffic, about 3 AM. The car hunkered down and handled pretty well but things were just happening too fast. Any irregularity in the pavement was magnified, the suspension was at it’s practical limit, no weird porpoising or feeling as if the front end was about to lift off, but much more and it would have been. That’s the only major speed run I’ve ever done on a public road. Of course, in some places regular interstate traffic pushes 90, but that’s well within the limits of suspension, tires and driver skill for most.
