An aside.. wondering if this would work in crock pot/slow cooker. Guess the big difference would be the piled on food, rather than aesthetically placed in pyrex 8X13

I really loved the discussion the other day on the fast/steam crock pot like appliance. I have never heard of it prior. Would like one eventually. Went to the Amazon listing on them and noted the various sizes and all they could do. I use my rice cooker A LOT.. for more than rice..

And the discussion on Teflon.. good info .. I went back to the Facebook Recipe/entertaining group and noted I had posted the end of March an article on the downside health wise of teflon coated pans

Yes, I definitely think it would work in a crock pot/slow cooker. I don’t have a crockpot, so I’m guessing that it might take a bit more time than on stovetop. For the stovetop, I bring the tomatoes (juice part) to a low boil over medium heat, then turn it down to low simmer. Usually cook for 2-3 hours, sometimes more.

I was also interested in that new pot a few were talking about the other day - sounds like a great kitchen appliance! My mom had one of the old stovetop pressure cookers with the thermometer thingy on top - I was always a bit afraid of it as I heard stories of how they could blow.
