John Kasich on Refusing Service to LGBT People: 'What the Hell Are We Doing in This Country?' By BEN GITTLESON Apr 12, 2016
After dodging a question earlier in the day on conversion therapy, Republican presidential candidate John Kasich asked Monday night what the hell was happening in the United States that a state would allow businesses to deny service to people who are gay or transgender, as a law Mississippis governor signed last week permits.
"I read about this thing they did in Mississippi, where apparently you can deny somebody service because they're gay?" Kasich said during a town hall televised on CNN, where appeared with his wife and twin 16-year-old daughters. "What the hell are we doing in this country? I mean, look, I may not appreciate a certain lifestyle or even approve of it, but I can -- it doesn't mean I've got to go write a law and try to figure out how to have another wedge issue.
But in much of Ohio, the state where he serves as governor, businesses are legally permitted to refuse service to gay or transgender people. While some cities and counties in Ohio prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, no similar statewide protection exists there.

What the hell Re we doing in this country?? WE are trying to run OUR small businesses the way WE run OUR lives you moron!!! GET the DAMNED government out of our lives!!! LBGT can get their own damn bakeries to make their DAMNED cakes!!! GAY people tend to be VERY CREATIVE they would make beautiful cakes!!!!!
I heard this on radio. It was a puff situation with Kasich and his wife an daughters where they were puffed up and presented as a wonderful all American liberal open minded family that is somehow conservative too.
The only time Kasich got really excited and animated was in defending gay victimhood.
Clearly he is the designated nominee or Trump’s VP and he was positioning himself for the general as the open minded inclusive and diverse Republican.
John Kasich really, you can go **** yourself.
What the hell kind of country do we live in where we cannot say NO to people we believe are morally sick, twisted, perverted?
The left does it all the time, tell us NO, we have to do this, or NO, we cannot do that, based on their liberal secular atheistic morality.
Our founders would say the same thing to Kasick. Yes i spelled it wrong but accurately.
A private business is a service in this country?
The very same people ban travel to places they think are doing morally incorrect things.
They get to say no. They dont let others get to say no if they like what is going on, if it fits their moral worldview.
Doctors and lawyers are service professions. Yet they decline to take cases/clients/patients all the time, for a whole host of reasons.
My point of view is that the gov’t doesn’t own that business, it is private and should be able to enjoy the freedom offered to everyone.
Damn straight.
>>>”What the hell kind of country do we live in where we cannot say NO to people we believe are morally sick, twisted, perverted?”<<<
Morally??
By law, in some countries, you can’t say much. Because, by law, they are protected. So they got a lot of power, and they can do as they please. If things don’t please them, they can then play the ‘victim’ card.
So clearly he hasn’t read the bill or if he has, he doesn’t have the capacity to understand what it states.
Keep talking kasick, voters will flock to you any day now...well, once they finish trying to destroy Trump and them toss the little weasel cruz under the bus -
It’s a private sector thing, John...you wouldn’t understand.
Maybe someone should re-introduce Kaisich to the concept of “Free association”....
I self identify as a lesbian in a mans body.
I will beat their system.
Individual rights mean nothing to leftists like Kasich.
I guess that’s ok, but not if you’re just a lowly baker or florets.
