Ignorant Outrage Over the Colorado GOP Caucus Vote
BernardGoldberg.com ^ | April 11, 2016 | John Daly

Posted on 04/11/2016 6:54:35 PM PDT by Lakewood

You see, contrary to the impression that many people have been left with over the past couple of days, Colorado’s traditional caucus-night poll had never been a binding, primary-like election. That’s not how it worked. It was a simple straw-poll — nothing more, nothing less. It wasn’t the process used to distribute delegates to the candidates.

The nomination procedure in this state has been driven by the election of representatives for over a hundred years (except for from 1992 to 2002). It starts with grassroots caucus attendees from local precincts voting on congressional-district delegates (their neighbors) to represent them, and ends at the state convention a few weeks later when the representatives finish selecting national delegates to back a candidate at the national convention.

BE is correct. Cruz has taken on the Bush people. He is being steered and doing just what Jeb was going to do by bypassing voters. Just before the convention, they will dump him.

It is clear that you don't have a clue either. The delegates that were selected in Colorado are Cruz delegates hand-picked by the Cruz campaign. They will be loyal to him in rounds 2, 3, 4, and so on. As for bypassing voters, it is clear that you also do not understand how state conventions work. These delegates were voted on by convention participants. Cruz didn't make up these rules. But he did recognize them for what they were. Sure, this was a setup to seat GOPe delegates. But the Cruz campaign worked their butts off to see that all GOPe delegates were defeated. Meanwhile, Trump sat on his ass and did nothing to thwart the GOPe in Colorado. And now he's whining because Cruz did.

I don't get the outrage. Does anyone think the GOP was really going to let one person - one guy - walk in and take over their operation? Seriously - are you kidding me?

The GOP & DNC are both $trillion dollar franchises! Web sites like FR, et al exist for ideologues - from all over the political spectrum - to fret, wish, pray, hope or whatever else floats their boat, but they have no say whatsoever in real decisions, real power.

But Lucy's football is still there, tantalizing the masses with the prospect of really kicking it just this one time. 25 years for Rush, 20 years for FR, 60 years for NR, etc, etc, etc.

What we're seeing this go-around is the real deal, the real operations. We can at least give Trump this credit, that he threw back the covers. OK, so now everyone knows. Does that change the equation?

LOL. Does the slave who imagined himself free have any more power once he's confirmed he's actually a slave?

Mr. Trump is at 68% disapproval among females. Women turn out 10% higher than men. 3rd grade arithmetic reveals Mr. Trumps unelectability (Gallup numbers).

You know what, all that patronizing remarks to the contrary, if I lived in Colorado, I would be mad as heck at what happened, even if I was a Cruz supporter, which I am not, and I would be demanding a do-over. There is time.

If only TPA Teddy could learn to win at the ballot box. The he wouldn’t have to steal the nom from Trump.

It’s going to be a rough few weeks for Ted Bush. He’s polling in 3rd place now in NY, PA and MD. LOL.

Goldberg hates the red meat of Trump who’s not interested in his quirky rightwing media matters type movement.

Trump really has not demonstrated an understanding of how to manage a presidential campaign.

If, in his business career, Mr. Trump had been as unprepared and been as concerned about fairness for his competitors as he expects his political competitors to be toward him, he would now be bragging about a net worth of ten dollars instead of ten billion. Didn't he write a book and organize a university all dedicated to teaching people how to take advantage of opportunities presented by individuals less knowledgeable and prepared than themselves. Doesn't he enjoy a reputation as a tough, no holds barred businessman who believes in winning at all cost.

It is sad to see this towering individual who has attracted such fierce loyalty from so many good people now reduced to whining and complaining because everyone refuses to step aside and let him have his way.

Cruz is at 63% and he takes no positions.

There was no gender gap in WI.

Cruz is currently polling 3rd in NY, PA and MD. Cruz can’t beat no money Kasich but he’s “electable” in the general? Third grade common sense reveals the fallacy of your Cruzer day dream. Ted Cruz will never be POTUS.

That theory has been advanced and debunked. Bush has been out a long time.

Colorado voted for Cruz as a candidate, not a place holder.

You got that right. Trump is treating this as some kind of celebrity reality show. Colorado was the perfect arena for sticking it to the GOPe (as Cruz did), yet Trump has shown nothing but utter incompetence. In addition, he has bungled it in other states as well by leaving it up to the GOPe to select the individuals that will serve as Trump delegates instead of fighting to get people loyal to him (as Cruz has done).

And to hear all these Trump supporters falling into hysteria about how the GOPe is going to steal the election after the first ballot - it is their own candidate who is making it possible by not securing delegates.

Honey, a flight to Maralago can change that grumpy number for the ladies in a jet stream minute.

You have no idea what is coming in the USA this summer. Trump is going to look pretty good by fall and the November election.

OTOH, Cruz would be promising the women more cartels, gun runners, human trafficking and rapists, as long as ICE doesn’t arrest you, you’ve got a pathway to legalization with me. Cruz is a snake, regardless who likes him.

Where do you get this stuff?

Clearly made up by you or a bad source!

I know. Ignorant, uninformed and nasty posts.

Is there a Trump University where the trumpers all go and learn how to do this?

“Ted Cruz will never be POTUS”

The thing about Cruz is, is that he has no chance at all to win the state of Florida, let alone VA, PA. The campaign he is running doesn’t sell here. Without Florida, the election is over at 8:01 PM. The GOPe knows this.

Trump can win Florida, but they don’t want a Trump presidency. They will install a Ryan type to run. Ted Cruz is dead in the water.
