(continuing from the last excerpted paragraph)...or they could even back party insiders Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan.

I keep saying, Trump should just blow off the GOP and start his independent candidacy now. Why wait?

I live in Colorado. Trump made no effort at all to organize this state, NONE...

Do you think the Democrats will appreciate Donalds lack of effort come November if he is the nominee???

His rival Ted Cruz swept the board in that state, where delegates are selected by senior party activists.

Leave it to the BBC to get it completely wrong. The delegates are selected by party activists, but largely by the grassroots activists.

Yes it is rigged and it’s favoring Trump. He only has about 37% of the vote, but he has 45% of the delegates! Trump needs to release those extra delegates and give them to the candidate that people voted for. This is an outrage.

Trump has told us he’s rich, really rich. What good did his money do him or any of us if he didn’t use it to buy some expertise. You can’t get through an election on the cheap. The general election isn’t going to be a walk in the park where a hapless candidate can tweet his way into the White House, no matter how popular he is.

I’m a Cruz supporter willing to vote for Trump to keep a Democrat out of the White House; but if Trump goes third party, I won’t be voting for him. Third party candidates cannot win after splitting the party from which they originated.

Trump lost Colorado primarily because he didn’t know the rules and didn’t prepare to participate.

Success requires planning and preparation, but the Trump campaign is all about personality.

And this is the guy who is going to fix our problems.

Why wait to start an independent candidacy? Because, just like Colorado, there are processes and rules and all that other annoying stuff to get through, and Trump hasn’t done it. It’s too late to get on the ballot.

So he can’t win third-party, and Trump is all about winning, remember? Except when he doesn’t, and that’s when he whines and pouts.

Short on specifics, full of platitudes, and all about him.

I keep saying, Trump should just blow off the GOP and start his independent candidacy now. Why wait?

Why not just elect Hillary now? Why wait?

An independent run by either Trump or some GOP substitute (as Ben Sasse has threatened) only guarantees the Democrats of victory - and NO they are not the same. I, for one, would rather have Romney, Ryan, McLame, Grahmnesty, or almost any other RINO before Hillary. I really think that had Romney won, things would be much better than with Obama. Now, I am not advocating for any RINO - but I don't like Trump or Cruz, so I am going to have to hold my nose in November anyway.

That said, if Trump is going to play the game, he needs to know the rules. If I were going against him in a real estate deal and he used one of the many "tricks" that I am sure he has learned over the years to beat me, should I should "no fair" like a 12-year-old? The rules around selection of delegates have been around for years.

As I keep saying - if Trump can't make a deal to win the nomination (either by getting enough delegates or by working with some other person), then how is he going to make deals with Mexico, China, Japan, etc.? Is the Republican party tougher than Putin?

I live in Washington State and in 1012 I attended a cockus (sp). That is what it amounted to. I will never attend another one. It is a phony way to determine who gets the delegates and who is the state's preferred nominee.

It, in my opinion, is better to have a primary to determine who gets the delegates rather than having a few people shove a candidate down the electorate's throat.

The people of Colorado, and actually, the people of the United States are being disenfranchised by two political parties that care only to cement their own power in DC and around the country.

I often think about this: I grew up during the 30's 40's and early 50's. How much the country has changed in those 70+ years. Imagine what the USA will look like 70 years from now. The concept is too frightening to dwell on. If my grandfather, who died in early 1941 was alive today,he'd be a revolutionary. Guarandamntee you.

The CO delegates were originally slated to all go for Jeb Bush. There wasn’t chance in the world that they were going anywhere else.

No one planned for Jeb to be sidelined, but Trump did it anyway.

So Jeb dropped out.

Since he has suspended his campaign, they needed an insider to be a place holder for the delegates and that turns out to be Cruz, who will control those delegates until the Convention, then, after a few slight of hand tricks, they are slated to go back to Jeb, or maybe Mitt.

Cruz will never get to enjoy the delegates at the convention.

Well, it is becoming increasingly obvious that whatever ails the American political system - and there is plenty that ails it! - Donald the Unready is not the cure. I think it is more than evident that: 1) Trump did not take this whole thing seriously at the beginning. 2) When he struck a chord with a large number of the the truly and rightly angry voters, even he was surprised. 3) When he saw that he was actually in a position to win the nomination, he assumed that it was his; and led his followers to believe that it was his by right. 4) When he saw a bit later that the GOPe was not going to go down easily and that some of his rivals for the nomination were not going to just quit in the middle of a race, he tried to win with bluster, bad-mouthing, accusations of bad faith, and little serious attempt to learn and grow himself. 5) He is very, very quick to cry “foul” on others; and he likes to shift blame. 6) He is, by his unpreparedness and willingness to blame those he will need as allies for the general election, going the Demos work for them. All of which makes you wonder ...

I am sorry, Trumpsters, if this is a demonstration of his level of perception and effort, he would make a poor president. So, get mad all you want and whomever you want. Your hero is the one holding the bag on this one.

And, yes, if he is the nominee, I will vote for him, even though he is certain either to lose (most likely) or, if he wins, to be a very unprepared and erratic president, which pretty much guarantees his failure. In doing so, he will leave the elite in a more powerful position than that in which he found them.

Trump’s idea of campaigning is get on a plane and have a rally where the media clamber to video and stream. Trump doesn’t pay a dime for the free publicity. He finishes his rally climbs on his plane and leaves.
He has NOT done the ground game. If he now calls his opponent a stealing lying fool, it will not work. The Republican Party in each state make the rules and these rules are well known to those who are active in the party.
He didn’t do his homework, or his advisers are inept.
The fact that his 2 children did not register as Republicans to vote for their Dad tells me that they are all playing at this, “running for President” thing!
Cruz has played this brilliantly whether they like it or not. Just don’t know that it will give him the win, but one thing is for certain, he wants this and is willing to do the work.

Mr. Trump thinks he can make up his own rules. Kinda like Obama’s executive orders.

He should keep highlighting this. What Cruz is doing is exactly what has pissed off the electorate for the last couple of decades. The more I hear about these rules that are changed and modified to push an establishment candidate on the people the angrier I get.
