Your naivete and optimism are refreshing. Deluded, but refreshing.
The differences expressed by Freepers sort of reminds me of the differences between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark in the "Avengers" series. Rogers (Captain America) is a man out of time. Resuscitated from falling into suspended animation in the 40s, he retains the mores, optimism and beliefs of post WWII America, where the government is a force for good and can be trusted (never mind the later movie). Stark (Iron Man) on the other hand, is the ultimate cynic, wary of accepted standards of honesty or morality by one's actions, especially by actions that exploit the scruples of others (reminds me of a certain candidate - but I digress). Stark suspects the worst of any overarching organization.
I can tell you from my experience as a state delegate, no party boss is going to tell me how to vote. If fact at one convention, we (of pre-cursor tea party movement) through out the party appointed convention chair and voted in our own person. We then voted in our platform! What the Trump Camp and hacks are spreading is that all these Cruz people who are delegates are Trojan horses for the GOPe, will turn on Cruz and elect Paul Ryan. This takes conspiracy beyond credulity.
