Trump knew or should have known how Colorado assigns delegates, and he should have had his team there to make sure the outcome was as favorable to him as possibleWhen the calling card for the republican committee is #nevertrump, the presence or absence of Trump people or Trump himself would make no difference.
The establishment has no plans of being open minded and swayed by Trump and his people.

A winning strategy involves electing your delegates at the precinct level and then the county/district level and on to the state conventions. A candidate must get their supporters to attend at each level to influence the delegates chosen for the next level.
Trump didn't even plan far enough ahead to have his children register for the Republican Party in time to vote for him. You can scream and whine all you want, but poor planning is to blame here.
