Yes, it was a Hungarian and German area. The Germans mostly left it by the time I was little, but there were still lots of Hungarian restaurants and shops there, back then.

Have you been in the area long?

My mom’s side of the family came from Austria/Hungary and also Czechoslovakia. There was a really good Hungarian restaurant and also a fun German restaurant with good food that we would go to on occasion in Denver when we lived there years ago. Sadly haven’t found either up here. I make Holubky (stuffed cabbage rolls) for Christmas Eve and tried a few other dishes years ago. Sure wish we had a good Hungarian or Slavic type and German restaurants up here.
