I think the only danger in treating the issue of NBC as a non issue is that that lack of push back goes to establishing a precedent where NBC is watered down. When the globalists have been trying to change the definition for almost 20 years it suggests to me that maintaining it is vital.
You are very right in a way.
The Founders had no way to imagine a “globe” as we have today. They could not have conceived that a pregnant American woman would be in Paris, Prague or Podunk, Poland when an early-delivery baby came along.
Of course this gets into other issues as well. If “native born” is a requirement, do we accept all babies born in the 50 states to illegal immigrants, or one such parent?
