New Yorkers head to the polls on April 19 to vote in their primary election. Two pretty high-profile Donald Trump surrogates, however, will be shut out of the polls: Ivanka and Eric Trump.
New York, as it turns out, has a "closed" primary--and neither Ivanka or Eric are registered Republicans.
Donald Trumps three oldest children have campaigned with their father and served as surrogates during the presidential race. But only one of them is actually a member of the party Trump hopes to lead.
Records from the New York State Board of Elections show that neither Ivanka Trump nor Eric Trump is enrolled in a political party. Trumps oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., is a Republican.
In what is certainly an unusual election law, New York voters had to register with a political party by October 9 in order to vote in the 2016 primary. New York is unique in this extremely early requirement. First-time voters had until March 25 to affiliate with a political party to be eligible for the primary. Ivanka and Eric are not affiliated with any political party. (Donald Jr. is a registered Republican, and no voter information exists for Tiffany Trump. The youngest Trump child, Barron, is 10-years-old and ineligible to vote.)
This is a pretty head-scratching slip-up--one would think that someone would have made sure that everyone associated with the Trump campaign would at least be eligible to vote for him in the primary election.
I agree, Eric has his father’s look but Donald has his father’s traits.
exactly
But you didn’t say it?
No I do not dislike it...don’t care. But there was NO proof given to prove it is true. I have seen media pick up stories that are not true, then others write on that story and so on. There was no voter record posted or anything. How can you except it as fact just because it was said.......good reporters dig a little more and verify. Show it to me.
Don't know. This is just more selective muckraking where Trump is concerned. I wonder if they've investigated to determine if Chelsea Clinton is properly registered to vote for Hillary?
Must have done the same campaign prep as their Dad.
I often had to take my wedding ring off because my fingers swelled especially in the summer and the ring hurt my finger. Maybe she has the same problem?
So what? I have decided to become unaffiliated too. I don’t see this as any big deal but I am sure cruzbots do.
One of the strategy's as part of Republican attempt to derail Trump is to make him look unorganized and incompetent. So, this story is just part of a conscious and intentional very expensive effort to manipulate you, called propaganda. If you haven't noticed, just like the NYT theme for months was 'Trump voters are Stupid and Uneducated!' ... one of the recent sub themes is 'Trump is a disorganized fool.'
Maybe they don’t want register as a repub or dem that doesn’t mean they aren’t registered at all
Donald Trump Jr. has come out in support of marriage equality.

That’s what you call a New York values Republican.
Haha! No. I’m very pregnant and very grouchy. I feel like I’ve tortured him enough today.
that is true
In his defense, there are some of them supporting Trump on this site, but given that the Cruz propaganda followers number more or equal to Trump propaganda followers, and given that very few on this site support Cruz, it suggests that a far greater percentage of the Cruzies on the prop train.
You would expect people from this sight to recognize when they are being manipulated, and that's not to say all Cruzies are being manipulated. Some are just flat out wrong, and that's fine.
looks like it.
This one ... “Must have done the same campaign prep as their Dad.”
It does matter if the primaries or caucuses are closed
“This is just another move by Teddys folks who are working on the Chicago method of registering the dead.”
I was wondering how long it would take for Cruz to be blamed for stealing the votes of Trump’s children.
Not long.
What’s ig-nert is assuming they’re not registered and therefore cannot vote. They’re registered as independents obviously, which many in the GOP will do if the elites continue their attempt to thwart the will of the voters.
