Worth reading the whole exchange. I don't think this particular report is taking anything out of context, but the interview has additional remarks that are worth knowing about. For example, that Manafort believes there is some ground to be had in unbound delegates, and for the reason he thinks Trump becomes the presumptive nominee before Trump locks up 1237 bound delegates, that reason being that the public will come to view Cruz as not electable.

That’s going to be a darn high hill for Manafort to be able to drag Mr. Negative Polls Trump to the top of. But of course, who knows, Manafort really could be reincarnate Merlin. Sounds more like he’s read too much Art of the deal or is polishing the apple he’s pushing to Trump.
