This entire controversy was a set-up to give bad press to a Republican state legislature.
A very liberal mayor and city council in Charlotte passed an ordinance that would allow men to choose which bathroom, shower or locker room they wanted based on how they felt.
They had been warned that the state would pass legislation to not allow it. The mayor pushed the bill through anyway knowing that it would cause bad publicity for the Republicans.
BTW the person in Charlotte who was behind the bill to allow men to go into showers, the locker room or the bathrooms is a Democrat CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER.
