There are only five states where the delegates are not bound to the candidate who won them in the primary.

These are the RNC's rules. Their own rules. So, how does Cruz get delegates that are BOUND to another candidate by the party's own rules?

Thanks for the INFO. TN did not end up like we voted as the actual ballot had had both the candidate and the delegates to elect. The delegates names were listed plus who they supported. We voted for TN Rep party types who backed Trump plus at large types who backed him on the ballot. That was a done deal until the April 2 meeting on 21st Ave in Nashville near Vanderbilt.

I think what Cruz is doing is getting delegates to pledge to him on the second ballot. He knows he has no chance on the first ballot. Cruz’s whole campaign is based on somebody else not getting it on the first ballot. Otherwise he is screwed.
