If they throw a putsch, fair enough. But a coup doesn’t automatically get title to everything held by the old government. By definition, a coup only gets what it can take by force.
Everyone else in the country has the same rights as the western Ukes and the Kiev kids.
So eastern Ukraine bolstered by Russians resisted the coup spreading east. Russia moved to secure its centuries old base in Crimea and not let it become another NATO base.
And there isn’t a single American interest there. Imagine that, a war we don’t have to be involved in!

So what would have been your position, had the Russians supplied Libya with advanced anti-air defenses to shoot down NATO planes, and supplied Libya with the means to defeat Western-backed Islamic terrorists?
