Law enforcement responded to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas on Friday on reports of an active shooter.
The Bexar County Sheriff posted on Twitter about the reports at 9:50 a.m., ET.
Sheriff tweet.
About 25 minutes later, the same account said officials were working to clear the base's buildings.
Sheriff tweet 2.
Soon after, the Sheriff's account said "we have victims" at the still active scene.

I wonder if the dialog went something like...
“Now you listen to me, Private Pyle, and you listen good. I want that weapon, and I want it now! You will place that rifle on the deck at your feet and step back away from it.
WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION, NUMBNUTS?!! Didn’t Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child?!!”
You make a claim, you get to prove it.
You’ve yet to do that.
And the nasty comment that started this stands.
LOL, I thought he did, but I stopped having him as my favorite baseball player some fifty odd years ago, so I would have to check! (I viewed 2nd base as my position in Little League, so I recall I had to pick a pro who played the same position I did as my favorite player...:)
I was stationed there when it happened.
Funny thing, I remember a lot of sirens going off as SP vehicles converged on the cop shop but I don’t remember the base shutting down or having us go to a safe zone.
It was a whole different world back then.
Yeah, because so many post by Trump supporters have been so low key, intelligent and unbiased recently.
You sandwich one thing that might be expected between two that should not. A political post supporting a candidate should be intelligent, but its ridiculous to criticize it for bias, and futile to expect campaign discussions to be low-key. I remember when Bill Buckley threatened to punch Gore Vidal in the nose on network TV.
Man, people today are such pussies.
He’s a kool-aide drinker, like many others on FR of late.
Hee-hoo?
And posting that is is a “false-flag” is insulting to the rest of us. 2012 registration hardly makes one a “newbie”, even if all they do is lurk, too.
Jeez, why is nobody understanding anything today? The one thing has nothing to do with the other. The posts smell false-flaggy to me because they argue for demonrat talking points. That is a separate issue from somebody with a 2012 registration being a newbie.
I was fortunate to get there in October.
Also fortunate to experience the old WW2style barracks, just before they built those awful modern industrial “buildings” to house airmen.
We got there late at night and I’ll never forget that first morning being roused and marched by screaming TI’s at 4am.
“Youve yet to do that.”
You, ma’am, are lying.
Heh, I had to go look, didn’t look like he ever played 2nd base. I probably liked him because he stole a lot of bases...:)
I liked playing baseball, but had never seen anything other than a little league game played since we were living overseas when I really got into baseball. I wasn’t then, and certainly am not now, much of a baseball fan!
No worries!
I have been reading FR since 2000, and there is a FReeper who vividly describes the early integration efforts of the US military, specifically how he got his ass walloped by a gang of blacks on base who would seek out whites to attack.
I have read his account several times over the years, and it is always entertaining. I even remember a specific line:
“Look out, he knows karate!”
Good thing you weren’t one of my Marine interrogators, otherwise I might have been dragged into a back room as a spy!
another example of jurisdiction: when I arrived in Korea in ‘52 and in replacement company awaiting my unit to pick me up, the story going around was that an American GI had raped a little Korean girl in a field when a truck load of GI’s came upon the scene and a couple jumped out of the truck to grab the guy. The sergeant took out his pistol and shot the guy in the head and rushed the child to an aid station. She has broken hips and died as they couldn’t stop the bleeding. Swift justice for a horrible crime.
Heh, that HAD to be me, but I think we were well past the initial stages of integration! (By the way, the rationale he gave me for kicking me from behind was that he didn’t like my squadron hat, I belonged to the VA-46 Clansmen (Scottish themed...we had the Macdougal tartan and crest painted on our planes, and the officers wore the Glengarry hats...I recall they wore ceremonial kilts too, but I can’t remember perfectly that they did.)
Heh, for a long time, it never occurred otherwise to me, I thought the leader of the guys that jumped me simply didn’t like VA-46 or some people in it, it didn’t hit me that perhaps he thought we were the “Klansmen” (non-Scottish variety)...
I’m stating an observed fact.
Your passive aggressive name calling doesn’t change facts.
Well, did one of the perps say, before the main attack, “look out, he knows karate!”?
That’s the giveaway, right there.
I have related your story to several people over the years.
It will live on!
I for one am not a Trump supporter and didn’t attribute teh obscene comment to Trump.
Your first thought was mine also....really? They want Trump to use this to advance himself politically??? Really? That was his first thought?

Your reply is disgusting. Trump needs to stay out of this. Period.
I was part of an Air Force unit attached to Camp Humphreys in South Korea. One of our guys was married and lived off base. He went home to find his wife in bed with a a guy in his shop.
Our First Sargent and Commander refused to do anything about it.
He ended up taking a 9mm out of the armory and taking his wife and the guy as hostages. After 2 escapes, death threats against the entire unit and two weeks as an escaped fugitive complete with blackhawks searching the countryside he was given a general court martial after the South Koreans declined jurisdiction.
I was the bailiff for the court martial.
Another case about the same time, the guy raped and murdered a Korean girl with an umbrella. He was handed over to the Korean police and is still probably there.
The killer's actions were premeditated and his suicide is what kept the base on lock down because no one could identify the shooter because he quite literally blew his head off.
