Trump To Skip Colorado GOP Convention

Donald Trump plans to skip attending Saturday’s Colorado Republican State Convention at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs.

Colorado State Republican Party Chairman Steve House told The Denver Post Wednesday that while discussions were happening for a Trump appearance, the plans ultimately collapsed.

“He will not be attending,” Kyle Kohli, communications director for the state GOP told The Post.

The state party will be electing 13 delegates to send to the Republican National Convention. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz managed to win six delegates already from Colorado.

>>Just an hour ago on MSNBC, a Trump spokesman, on the topic of Cruz’ efforts in up state NY, ridiculed Cruz for doing well in “places where nobody lives”.<<

Interesting, and untrue. Trump did exceptionally well in Wisconsin’s rural, less-populated, areas. That’s how he won his six delegates. Cruz won the state by doing as well as Trump, or better, in the more populated parts of Wisconsin.

For that reason, I question whether Cruz will be able to make much of a dent in the rural areas of NY state, but maybe he’s just trying to get second place so he wins one delegate if Trump is held under 50%. Given the Wisconsin results, though, holding him under 50% in rural NY might be tough. But I don’t know NY state politics so I could be way off base.

I was curious about your comment until I saw your tag line.

The problem with associating yourself with Trump is that it’s become impossible not to question virtually everything you claim is true. That’s the consequence of accepting everything Trump says at face value while explaining away all of his obvious missteps with some nonsense logic.

The simple fact illustrated in the article is that Trump tried to compete for those delegates but his people (the very best people, remember?) failed miserably at their task. I mean, one or possibly even two of his delegate candidates on the glossy brochure didn’t even pay the modest registration fee and so wasn’t eligible? A lost delegate or two for the lack of a few bucks?

Brings to mind that old saying about the want of a horseshoe nail, no?

“Trump only does well in states where people get to vote.”

We’ll said.

Our broken caucus/primary system here in CO has nothing to do with Trump.

His candidacy simply illustrates how broken it is.

But, please, believe whatever nonsense you want to believe.

More productive? Like Tweeting?

Given the bias of the Colorado Republican Party, sleeping would be more productive.

Seems to me he has Tweeted himself into front runner status. A little more of this and he will be the nominee.

It’s easier for them, psychologically, to imagine the vast conspiracy than it is to embrace the reality:

Attempting a hostile takeover of an organization of people who voluntarily associate with each other and form relationships over years is supposed to be difficult.
