Wonderful analyses. My sources are telling me that Trump will make a deal with Rubio for VP and blow the lid off this . Cruz and Trump animosity is too great for reconciliation. But if We ( Trump) don’t make a deal, the oligarchy will steal this from the people. It will be the end of the party. Rubio is a bad sweater and of dominutive stature but “he was our future”. The VP only has to go to the Senate on a few occasions. Rubio has practiced that to perfection. He might learn something from Trump. He has 145 delegates and that is just enough to get him a job, which he desperately needs.

This scenario means Trump gets my vote, but not the vote of four family members of mine, including my wife.

That scenario makes the most sense. At least Rubio was born in the US. He's also the GOPe marker, so it would be a set-up similar to saddling Reagan with Bush.

It's not an ideal situation, but Trump is going to have to make a deal with the GOPe - even if he's over 1237.

The closer this gets to a nuclear confrontation, it has all the makings of a classic negotiation: If Trump gets ripped off & runs 3rd party, he won't be elected. But if Trump runs 3rd party, the GOPe is eviscerated.

It can all be settled if Trump takes on a GOPe lackey, and the GOPe add some conditions with which they think they can control Trump. Neither side gets **all** that they want in a perfect world, but each gets a piece of what they really want.

It doesn’t work that way, Wendel. Sure, Trump could offer Rubio the VP slot, but Rubio can’t tell his pledged delegates to vote for someone else. He could release them, but then they are free to vote for Cruz, and if my infomation is correct, the Florida delegation has its share of Cruz supporters who will not vote for Trump regardless of Rubio’s wishes.

“Trump will make a deal with Rubio”

Sounds right to me. A Trump/Rubio ticket would be better than Cruz/Rubio here in Florida. I don’t think that Cruz can win Florida no matter who is on his ticket. Ted has no pull in Tampa Bay and he will get crushed in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties, where all the votes are.

Although Rubio has lost stature here, he is still a native son and would level the playing field in Dade. Trump is already strong in FL, his second home.

Could be GOP best ticket to win Florida and no matter what other states are talked about, if you don’t win Florida, you don’t win.

Though I do not like amnesty boy Rubio very much at all, I will gladly suffer him as the vice president for two reasons. First, Hillary isn’t going to pick him. That means that a Republican is in the White House, a Republican is picking Supreme Court Justices, and a Republican is deciding on our foreign affairs and defense policy. Second, it would mean that Donald Trump would be the president - because Cruz will never pick him, either - not after the allegations about him cheating on his wife which everyone knows originated with the Rubio campaign.

Rubio is also an extremely well-spoken person, he has excellent legislative experience and he speaks to the type of foreign and defense policy that I like. His major flaw is on amnesty. He will have to demonstrate to the public that he sees the error of his ways with the Gang of Eight. By the way, even if he is a big liar on that issue which would not surprise me at all), after 8 years of Trump controlling immigration and getting good results in a variety of areas because of that, he will face some opposition toward an open borders policy. This will be similar to the opposition to tax increases after 8 years under Reagan.
