I keep asking those in TX, but I cant get an answer.
Yuck, yuck."
As I've explained numerous times in various forums (invariably to Kalifornians, you who's profile sports a Kalifornia flag and should know better than to throw stones):
1. Texas is structurally and socially conservative.
A) The vast majority of Texans are God fearing Christians. As a benefit - Texas being such a large market - the rest of the country, especially Kalifornia and NY, can thank us for fighting to keep a majority of garbage from being codified in school books used throughout the country.
B) Conservatives hold the Governorship, Senate, and House.
C) The legislator only meets every 2 years, which demonstrates that Texas is founded on the principle of limited government. That's a core conservative tenant.
2. Name one state that doesn't have a large city that isn't run by a corrupt cabal who exploit the weak by using identity politics to gain and retain power (ever heard of San Fransisco?)
3. Texas has a 1,200 mile border with Mexico. Were it were not for the conservatives in Texas, spending literally billions of hard earned state tax dollars (from our budget surplus) and using scarce state-based security resources protecting the border, the USA would be in a LOT worse shape in regards to illegal aliens. Even if Kalifornia had the money, it would NEVER in a million years spend large amounts of money to do the FedGov's job to protect its citizens. Hollywood, SanFran, and the plethora of unions that own the entire political apparatus would fight that until their dying breath.
There's your answer.
Yuck, yuck.
TX just thinks it’s “conservatives” because Republcians hold all but one of the thirty or so statewide constitutional offices. The exception is a seat on the state Supreme Court held by a Republican-turned-Democrat. The House Speaker is one known to pander to the Democrat minority to keep him in the seat with little opposition.
Texas is structurally and socially conservative.
You got ripped off slick.
Dallas Texas 2006, during war time, under Republican George Bush.
500,000 illegal aliens march on Dallas Texas pushing foreign flags in our faces and while making demands and threats. All while Texas Republican George Bush celebrated Cinco De Mayo up in the White House...During war time.
