The author is correct. I used to know a number of homosexuals. Almost to a one - they suffer from great burdens of disease, violence, addiction, depression/suicide, etc... due to their own illness and sexuality.
They are indeed in great pain, brought on them by their own behavior, and the superficial reaction is to blame others or seek acceptance for their behavior, which are absolutely wrong.
If they only sought acceptance of their behavior, that would be one thing. The reality is they DEMAND your acceptance and condoning of it.
