Used to do a Spinning routine with both “Bridge of Sighs” and “In This Place”. Those two were seated climbs. At the end of “In this place” I cross faded into Computer Blue. They were out of the saddle and hammering the rest of the hill just after “Shall we Begin?”...
I can’t read that verse without hearing the guitar riff that comes after.
Your last paragraph has me baffled, though.

Yes, great lyrics. I play “Bridge of Sighs and “In this Place” on acoustic guitar, includng the very ‘Jim’i into. You can’t do one without the other. Seems to be a hit on open Mic nite.
