Just heard Trump on TV, speaking about his disdain for the delegate selection rules, and Cruz out working him and getting delegates: “I don’t care about rules, folks”. OK, so the rules should apply to everyone else, but not to Trump. That pretty much sums up Trump’s general attitude, which is a bit disconcerting after seven years of a President who also doesn’t seem to care about rules, such as Constitutional limits on his power.
And, please don’t tell me Trump would not be criticizing people if the shoe were on the other foot and they complained about him “stealing their delegates”. He would call them whiners, so why is he not now whining?
There should be no rules that allow party insiders to thwart the will of the voters.
Nazi Germany, the Stalinist USSR and Maoist China all had rules. Were those good rules that should have been applied to everyone, also?
