Well, since they never give the "other side" in comparison, I'll say this is a balderdash article.

Yes. This only serves to agitate people. It's a typical article from the media in any format that has attempts to put people into a group - personalities similarities or not.

You see? Slammed just for not looking at some post which was likely posted during the work week - so typical of Trumpeters - use one poster’s comment and conflate that with the majority of Cruz posters, whereas it is the minority of Trumpeters who do not attack.

Laserman :" .. when the derangement syndrome sets in they throw common sense out the window.
It is unfortunate because many times these are otherwise reasonable, intelligent folks."

That is why we need both passion and intellect.
Passion is the enthusiasm to make change
Intellect is knowing how to creatively effect change, while remaining within the confines of the Constitutional procedure.
That is why we need both concepts ; we have too long had an administration that has caused divisiveness to separate us, thus making us ineffective and frustrated.

I expressed some mild support for Cruz and was viciously attacked by some Freeper in a way that I've never been attacked on FR before.

Just imagine what happens when the GOPe steals the nomination from Trump.

Make no mistake: the Trump movement is about one thing - a bloodless revolution. I personally hope America gets it right before it gets any uglier.

writer33 :" The fact is that this should’ve been a two man race a long time ago."

Exactly true !
When the eGOP saw the threat from Trump , they swamped the field, trying to divide the field of candidates and the votes they would attract.
When that didn't work , they changed the Rules Committee regulations as they went along,
thus demonstrating how corrupt they were in trying to retain power and decision making .
Eliminate Rinse Previous , and crony Karl Rove (A/K/A = 'Capt. Has Been") from the eGOP , and we have a chance to save and protect the Nation !
You don't repeat stupid three times ,.. and expect a different outcome !

“I would agree with you characterization of Trumpsters except that when the derangement syndrome sets in they throw common sense out the window. It is unfortunate because many times these are otherwise reasonable, intelligent folks.”

You may find it beneficial to look at things from the Trump supporters’ perspective.

Ted Cruz is staying in a race he cannot possibly win. Yes, it’s mathematically possible, but he’s not gonna win the northeast, which he absolutely would need to do.

So the best Ted can do is deny Trump a first ballot victory and open the door for GOP convention shenanigans. Cruz will never win the nomination.

So tell me again about common sense, reason, and intelligence.

Just sticking up for ourselves. Back in about July, when this site was a Cruz mostly site, I mentioned that I thought DT had all the right enemies. This was after saying I was for Cruz. I was quickly told how stupid I was and the poster would have to type very slowly to me so even I, could understand.

It wasn’t the Trump supporters who contacted the site owner asking to have Trump rally threads pulled. It wasn’t the Trump supporters who wanted new Trump posters banned. It wasn’t the Trump supporters who because they couldn’t do enough bashing of Trump on this site, started their own site. Guess who they were bashing on their new site? Freepers. I saw very few links about Cruz or Trump. But, a lot of nasty comments about long time freepers, and rude comments about the site owner. If they had any links, it was to free republic.

Most of us, by now realize the gop is not the party of stupid, they are the party of evil. I pretty much look at any gop person the same as I would a leftists. Same thing.

Yes, both are needed, but passion should not cloud reason.

In effect, Trump will absolutely have to win South Dakota and Montana, which he will not do in order to reach 1237 delegates.

This should've been a two man race a long time ago. You have to win it. No one is going to hand it to you. The candidates didn't make the rules. They have to play by them.

That’s all well and good until the brokered convention gives us Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney.

Laserman :" Yes, both are needed, but passion should not cloud reason."

Agreed !
You need passion (an emotion) to face adversity and confrontation.
Passion without intellect , or thought , leads to irrational decisions.
You need intellect in order to accomplish Constitutionally acceptable procedure.
So , yes , both are needed !

As we have seen, Cruz is much better at knowing the nominating process and the primary delegate rules. I trust his assessment that he still has a path to victory. There are over 400 delegates either unbound or committed to a defunct candidate. After the first ballot even more will be unbound. I think it is very likely Cruz will win if it goes beyond the first ballot.

As for the GOPe inserting an outside candidate, that outdoor only appen if the rules are changed, and the rules committee will be dominated by Cruz and Trump delegates. They won’t approve such a change. Even if by some fluke such rule changes make it out of the committee, the convention delegates then have to approve the new rule. As long as Trump and Cruz delegates refuse to approve such changes, they will never happen.

Thus, the likelihood of an outside candidate even getting nominated is bill to none.

Absolutely! This “Knozen” personality research is hokum. It’s data gives no numbers, just “much” more or less and “half” as likely or not?? Well that really sums it up! It was very off base with how “Trump supporters were more likely to have milked a cow.” As seen in WI last night, that would be Cruz supporters. All of the rest of their “findings” were simply criteria for being LEGAL AMERICAN’S. Well duh, one app I won’t invest in.

You are claiming that the majority of ad hominem attacks come from Trump supporters.

I merely cited one particularly egregious personal attack by a Cruz supporter, but there have been plenty more of them. Many of the worst offenders have deservedly been zotted, and the worst posts have been removed.

Where did I say anything about the majority of Cruz supporters? YOU are the one making unwarranted generalizations.

There are certainly guilty parties in both camps. Short of combing through threads to make a tally of insults (as a certain advocate of a particular brand of computers used to do), it’s impossible to say with any certainty which side is worse.

Personally, I think it’s pretty much equal, but it doesn’t really matter because it shouldn’t be happening at all.

This is like two kids that have been fighting, and each one blames the other for starting the fracas. The adult that breaks up the fight doesn’t care who is guilty, he only wants the fighting to end.

Rubio and Carson stayed in way too long and Kasich is delusional.

Trump and Cruz need to make sure that never happens. They need to make sure they have people in there on the rules committee so there’s no shenanigans.

If that happens, people will unite behind one candidate despite all that has gone on during the primaries. In the end, no one wants another Romney running, and no one wants a Hillary Clinton presidency. We’re going to see how this all shakes out pretty soon.
