Yay!! You got your very own multi cooker!! You’re going to love it!
Yes, I brown the meat first on the brown setting. Heats up really fast and a nice, hot temp. I’ve also used the sauté level for mushrooms, onions, etc.
I don’t cut the meat up, unless it’s for stew, etc.
The controls are a little confusing...but nothing crazy. I watched youtube’s for instructions and (lots of) recipes.
Also, their website has some recipes, as well.
