I always thought Jackie married him for protection. Remember she didn’t live with the Kennedy’s after the death. Caroline, John and her lived away from the clan.
Oh, good point - I had forgotten about that. I think that plus allowing her and the kids to live in a good lifestyle probably did it. They probably had some type of “arrangement”.
One thing that I remember reading about her years ago (funny that this stuck with me) is that she had very special sheets and they went with her everywhere. The beds she slept on had to have those sheets and the sheets needed to be changed daily. I guess we all have our little idiosyncrasies.
Yes, you are probably right. Life would feel very insecure when your husband was shot sitting next to you, on national tv, and your brother in law (maybe her boyfriend too) a few years later. She wanted to be able to sleep at night.
