Jackie Kennedy I believe spoke fluent French. Charles De Gaulle really liked her. I believe he visited the White House wanting to look her over. Jackie was the talk back then.

Yes, I think she did speak fluent French and our dear Melania speaks 4 or 5 languages.
I always thought it was interesting (and perhaps a bit strange) that Jackie married Ari as I think she could have probably had any man she wanted. I didn’t find him an attractive man (certainly not by JFK standards) but I read he was rather charming and, of course, totally loaded with $$s. I suspect we will never really know the reason for the relationship and marriage, but I’ve seen couples that I would have never put together if there were a bunch of men and women in a room and you had to try to match them up.
