Michael Barone use dig deeper than skimming the surface foam to make a point. The pundit, talkers and writers, on the left and right, are the laziest people on God's green earth. Trump voters want freedom from the gods and goddess of government. Who would have ever thought, that Reagan's America would devolve into a bloated suffocating layer upon layer upon layer of government.

Barone ignored the despicable treatment of US veterans, and the ungodly government take over of medical care... Barone ignores the literal destruction of that former middle class. Barone use to be credible. Trump signifies returning the function of ‘government’ back to we the people.

If they wanted that, they'd be conservatives and/or libertarians. What they truly want is government doing things for them, rather than other people whom they believe don't merit it, or warrant it. Kind of like the slogan "Better Police for a Better Police State."
